Competitor-Research: Here we check which companies form the set of competitors in a given market. This can be direct competitors or indirect competitors. This type of research helps to understand the competitive environment, to understand relevant standards set by these competitors and later on to define the closest competitors which should be monitored constantly.
Competitor-Analysis: Here the most relevant competitors are check in detail. Market position and USP, strategy, organisation, financial parameters and other pieces of information need to be identified. Given this information, one’s own strategy can be defined.
